Cape renaming plan open for public debate till end August 2007

Is Cape Towns airport to be named 'khoi Sun International,
Is Devil's Peak to be renamed Goringhaiqua Hill (after the Khoisan community who settled in Cape Town as early as 1648)? Is JB Hertzog Drive to be called Nelson Mandela Boulevard and Coen Steytler Avenue to become Walter Sisulu Avenue? Is Milner Road in Tamboerskloof to become Uys Krige Road!
There have been over 200 name change proposals submitted to the cities renaming panel . The panel then recommends names to the City Council and hopes to find a balance of cultural diversity and social cohesion in the new names.

Cold front hits Cape Town


Gale force northerly to north-westerly winds are expected between St Helena Bay and Mossel Bay and in places over the central interior of the Northern and Western Cape Provinces.
Very rough seas with wave heights exceeding 5m, are expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas.
Heavy falls of rain is expected over the western parts of the Western Cape. Very cold, wet and windy conditions will persist over the western high ground of the Western and Northern Cape Provinces spreading to the eastern high ground of the Western Cape. Snowfalls are likely on the western high ground of the Western Cape and southern high grounds of the Northern Cape by evening, spreading to the eastern high grounds of the Western Cape. Weather conditions which could lead to runaway fires are expected in the Garden Route, the Little Karoo, Eastern Cape interior, western part of North-West Province, western and southern Free State as well as KwaZulu-Natal.
Advisory : Gale force westerly to south-westerly winds are expected along the south coast tomorrow(Tuesday). Very rough seas with wave heights exceeding 5m, are expected to spread to Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday. Very cold, wet and windy conditions will persist tomorrow(Tuesday) over the western high ground of the Western and Northern Cape Provinces, spreading to the Eastern Cape interior.

Tottenham Hotspur is coming BacktoZA!

Tottenham Hotspur will compete in the Vodacom Challenge in South Africa in July 07. This is the second team outside of Africa to take part in the tournament following Manchester United’s involvement last year.
